On Guru Pradosh, the city of Shiva, Kashi, turned saffron. When a crowd of devotees chanting Bol-Bam thronged the Prayagraj-Varanasi route, there was a competition among those serving them. From Rohania to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, crowds of Kanwariyas were seen in the service camps at various places along the way. More than two lakh Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
On Thursday, on the occasion of Guru Pradosh, there was a huge crowd of people offering water to Baba. The sequence of darshan and worship that started with Mangala Aarti continued uninterrupted till Shayan Aarti. Kanwariyas were being allowed entry from all the entry gates of the Dham area.
The crowd of people offering water was the largest after Mangala Aarti in the morning and during Pradosh Kaal in the evening. According to the data released by the temple, more than two lakh Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath.
There was a competition to serve the Kanwariyas on the Madouli-Manduwadih road, the main route for the Kanwar Yatra to enter the city. On one hand, from Madouli to Manduwadih, queues of Kanwariyas were seen chanting Bol Bam everywhere, while people from various service committees were busy serving them.
Satyam Jaiswal, Ashish Prajapati, Vishal Prajapati, Bablu Morya, Shashi Jaiswal were busy serving the Kanwariyas under the banner of Bol Bam Seva Samiti in Manduadih. Some were bandaging the blisters and wounds on the feet of the Kanwariyas, while others were giving them sherbet and water to quench their thirst. Arrangements for a fruit breakfast were also made for the Kanwariyas.
